    Succession Management Program Analyst

    Join a unit in Peace Officer Selections and Employee Development as an Associate Governmental Program Analysts (AGPA) and help shape the important work that will be done to ensure a well-developed pipeline of candidates for future Executive Leadership positions.  The analyst team works with a Staff Services Manager I to manage a program that will potentially serve up to 800 employees in the Department with Career Development initiatives.  Tasks will include:

    • Collecting and analyzing data
    • Serving as a liaison to program participants
    • Conducting presentations regarding the program
    • Providing consultation to create and implement Leadership Development Plans

    Instructional Designer (Intermittent Work)

    Pay Range:  $40 - $90 per hour

    The Training Center at CPS HR Consulting is looking to hire an experienced eLearning Instructional Designer to work intermittently to design and develop learning experiences in the forms of instructional material, training courses, and multimedia technologies.  In this position, you can enjoy the flexibility of working basis from home.

    The eLearning instructional designer will work collaboratively with staff and subject-matter experts to develop learning objectives, rewrite content, structure learning activities and create visual aids for blended, online and instructor-led learning; and may also develop assessments and adapt existing materials in other formats. 

    We are looking for experienced individuals with knowledge of instructional design, e-learning development, blended learning, and classroom training delivery.  The successful candidate will be well versed in multimedia technology, project management, troubleshooting, technical writing, and course development and have a proven track record and demonstrated experience.  This candidate must be able to work both independently and on a team.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Instructional Design/Technology, Learning and Development, Education or a closely related field.  Master’s degree is preferred.

    2. At least three years of experience as an instructional designer, including primary responsibilities for designing and developing eLearning modules.

    3. Strong communication and facilitation skills; effective with adult learners, to large or small groups - in person, or remotely (using webinar technology software).

    4. Experience using eLearning development tools; Articulate Storyline and Captivate are preferred.

    5. Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS), Litmos Training Ops (ViewCentral) preferred.

    6. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Office 365, OneDrive and SharePoint.

    8. Ability to communicate effectively, learn, and work independently.

    9. Ability to read and effectively utilize training manuals and other written materials.

    Description:

    The Director/Senior Director of Business & Leadership is an academic appointee based in our Center for Professional Studies, with responsibility for overseeing a $5M portfolio of professional education programs in a variety of business, operations, management and leadership domains. As an academic leader in a self-supporting division, a continuing educator is first and foremost an academic entrepreneur who identifies new program opportunities, and develops high quality educational experiences that deliver value to learners and achieve financial sustainability. Under general oversight of the Associate Dean, the director is responsible for setting the overall direction of the portfolio, and developing an academic strategic plan and budget that is aligned with Divisional goals for mission expansion and financial growth. The director oversees academic quality, relevance and fiscal sustainability of public-facing open enrollment programs, and a contract training portfolio that serves organizational workforce development needs. The director identifies and leads new programmatic initiatives from concept to execution, grounded in knowledge of the subject domain and trends in the continuing education field. He/she innovates curricula, delivery models, business models, and credentialing. The director engages broadly in the regional business community (public/private sector) to represent the division, keep the pulse on future needs, create partnerships and develop new business opportunities. The director oversees a team of 12 program staff, led by two associate directors. As one of several portfolio leaders in the Center for Professional Studies, he/she actively contributes to and leads cross-functional initiatives that contribute to the success of the Center as a whole.

    • Master’s degree in management, business, organizational leadership or related topic.

    The CalSTRS Benefits & Services Branch is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Staff Services Analyst in the Member Account Services Division.

    The Benefits and Services Branch includes Service Retirement, Disability and Survivor Benefits, Member Account Services, Customer Service, Business Transformation and Retirement Readiness. The Benefits and Services Branch directly supports the organization’s mission to secure the financial future and sustain the trust of California’s educators.

    Member Account Services (MAS) is comprised of five teams: Employer Services, Training and Teachers’ Retirement Law Educational Services, Legislation, Analytical and Information Services, System and Data and Compensation Review. The division is the primary communication interface with the plan’s participating employers. It is also the custodian of the members’ accounts from election to benefit/termination status. The division is also responsible for Compensation Review whose primary focus is prevention of pension abuse. Over a million contribution lines are submitted monthly from participating employers and MAS staff ensures the timeliness and accuracy of the contribution data. Strong analytical abilities centered in data analysis and mathematical calculations along with good communication skills are needed.

    The Program Anlaysis & Training unit is responsible for providing training to the county offices of education, community colleges, K-12 school districts, charter schools and CalSTRS staff. The unit is the subject matter expert in the Teachers’ Retirement Law and the California Code of Regulations that the division is responsible for administering.

    Under the supervision of the Pension Program Manager II (PPM II), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) is the first journey level of the Analyst series and performs a range of assignments requiring analytical skills and effective written and verbal communication skills. In state travel may be required on occasion.
