Special Interest Groups (SIGS) may be sponsored ATD Sacramento to address a growing demand by our membership to better address their diverse needs. These targeted groups would span a wide geographic area and address a range of topics of interest to our members. By design, the SIGs are small and focused. These SIGs are therefore readily adapted to changing interests and can meet at times and in locations that are more convenient for our geographically diverse member base.
The Chapter extends an invitation to anyone within the professional community to work with the Board to set the goals and purposes of possible Special Interest Groups (SIGS) for professional development to determine offerings that meet these goals and purposes, marketing strategies, and to put in place a framework for managing event logistics. Such ad-hoc programs might include mini-conferences, certification programs, and joint educational/training offerings with related professional associations.
Criteria for SIGS includes
Purpose relative to the ATD Competency Model, ATD Sacramento 5-year Strategic Plan, and/or meet current or regional trends for working professionals
SIG leaders produce quarterly reports to the Board
SIG leaders must meet the initial agreement and purpose in order to remain in good standing with the Chapter.
