Manager, Instructional Design - Rocklin, CA

Summary:

Esurance is hiring a Manager, Instructional Design to join our Training team in the Rocklin, CA office. As the Manager, Instructional Design you will be accountable for the strategy and execution of the instructional design function, to include but not limited to, managing existing processes in addition to process improvement and creating standards of quality and measures of success. In this role, you will also be responsible for building and maintaining excellent rapport with our leaders across the organization (the customers) so that they have a clear understanding of the business operations and needs, with the ability to maintain and maximize all budgets and expenses. As the Manager, Instructional Design you will drive our development and innovation goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and directs the strategy for development/ design of current and new platforms, such as video, micro-learning and mobile.
  • Leads the instructional design function and its associates.
  • Collaborates with the training leaders on project intakes, charters, design, creation and results.
  • Oversees all initiatives, programs or processes that are highly complex in nature
  • Formulates strategies to achieve company learning goals and creates concept designs.
  • Addresses program feasibility (financial, operational, and technical); directs the requirements and measurements in order to determine impact of programs.
  • Evaluates impact and effectiveness of our training initiatives as compared with established goals with the business. Ensures the service level agreements are met by both training and the business.
  • Develops communication strategies
  • Partners with other department staff or external resources to solicit and integrate input from key stakeholders
  • Proactively evaluates procedures and processes regularly and determines/ recommends alternatives or improvements. Establishes and tracks training performance and reports findings to business leaders.
  • Communicates and presents project information to project team / updates to senior level management
  • Actively builds strong relationships among teams and team members to ensure cooperation on project objectives, Ensures processes are followed and applied consistently throughout team/department
  • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in human performance improvement or organizational design
  • Experience in Instructional design Classroom and Virtual
  • Ability to think from both a strategic and tactical perspective
  • Experience creating and implementing change management initiatives
  • Possesses advanced working knowledge of ID tools such as Captivate, Storyboard, video editing software and collaborative tools.
  • Leverages awareness of current industry standards/environment to impact decisions and indicate requirements 


Experience / Education

  • 5+ years of experience leading learning and development organization
  • 5 plus years learning management system experience, including implementation
  • 3 plus years eLearning design and development experience
  • Experience in video, mobile technologies and virtual learning
  • E-learning Certificate or designation
  • BA or Masters in Instructional design and technology
  • BA in adult learning or Education preferred
