Instructional Designer, Sales - San Francisco, CA


Sunrun is seeking talented, dynamic Instructional Design professionals to help grow our leadership position in the Solar Services industry.  If you have experience in blended learning design AND subject matter experience in Sales, Construction, or Technical Installation, then read on! 

 

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing blended learning solutions for our direct and partner audiences. You may be based in any of our offices in the U.S., but be willing to travel to other branch offices as needed to meet stakeholders and subject matter experts.

 

As an Instructional Designer at Sunrun, you’ll have the opportunity to change the way that people power their homes.  Solar Services is a new, exciting industry that is moving solar into the mainstream.  You’ll be on the forefront of redefining how solar is perceived and making solar energy affordable for more people. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and produce blended learning programs on our products, services, processes, and software tools
  • Conduct needs analyses of projects, audiences, learning objectives, and business goals
  • Project manage the end-to-end execution of multiple training initiatives simultaneously 
  • Apply adult learning theory and sound instructional design methodology to training deliverables
  • Work with subject matter experts and audience representatives to design highly engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Implement strategies for effective repurposing/reuse of learning content across multiple platforms such as the LMS and mobile devices such as tablets and phones
  • Develop train-the-trainer content and deliver train-the-trainer events on an as-needed basis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training
  • Must have experience in one or more of the following subject matter areas: Sales, Construction, Technical Installation
  • Experience creating e-learning, ILT, performance support, and job aids
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work with SMEs, stakeholders, and vendors, and translate audience needs into effective training products
  • Experience with one or more e-learning software tools (e.g. Storyline, Captivate)
  • Solar background is a plus, but not necessary
  • Portfolio and writing samples required during interview process
