IS Training Director - Sacramento, CA


Directs and manages the training life cycle, including needs analysis, training strategy, development and delivery of training programs along with the tools required for all end-users. Oversees the development of curriculum and leads the creation and deployment of EHR Training to develop employee and physician performance to a level, scale and timeframe such that the EHR project achieves its goals. Works closely with the application leaders and technical teams to ensure the required support and tools for the EHR project is realizing its goals and harvesting benefits. Leads the management of complex affiliate stakeholder relationships including participation in various integrated user and governance forums across the enterprise system by collaborating with each assigned EHR Regional Program Manager as well as the regional leaders to influence to fully adopt a single, standard approach to deploying the EHR Training program. Leads supervisors and other training experts in the creation and delivery of training and performance support.


Relevant experience as typically acquired in 11 to 14 years.
Successful management experience in the healthcare industry leading healthcare implementation projects, creating and leading others in the creation of EHR implementations and instructional materials and Organizational Development interventions is critical to success in the role. 
Skilled in successful transformational leadership including managing talent, creating a high performing work team including advanced skill in helping the team navigate political landscapes and deploying large-scale learning and development in a highly decentralized organization. 
Deep expertise in executive stakeholder influence and management. 
Leading experts in instructional design, including learning taxonomies and adult learning theory and practice. 
Modern evidence-based approaches to intervention design and delivery. 
Create business cases that consider tradeoffs between cost, quality, cycletime and throughput with respect to alternative interventions (e.g. eLearning, Blended Learning, Instructor-led) and methods of procurement (make vs buy). 
Business process management to ensure effective deployment of learning and OD interventions including scheduling, capacity management, and venue tradeoffs. 
Expertise in utilizing formal program evaluations to improve interventions sufficient to realize enabling, terminal and business objectives. 
Creating and deploying simulations that include assessment feedback is strongly preferred.
Direct the use of Sutter s Learning Management System to deploy portions of the EHR and other Information System training, as required. 
Supervise others in the use of Project/Program management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) and advanced methods to forecast and mitigate project risks (e.g. Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
