Senior Training Specialist - Stockton, CA
As a member of the Staples Learning and Development team, the Senior Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of various learning programs to new and existing associates. Candidates should have a strong understanding of adult learning theory and formal instructional design. The Senior Training Specialist should be able to write for different mediums including web based training, classroom and facilitated workshops). Additionally, excellent facilitation and coaching skills are needed as well as the ability to maintain a cooperative learning environment and effectively manage group dynamics. Facilitating new programs is an important aspect of this position.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Defines learning goals with building leaders to support new hires and key project implementations
Identifies business requirements
Specifies methods to achieve and maintain desired and current performance objectives
Ensures that the new hire process is successfully graduating individuals
Meets regularly with supervisors and building leaderships to ensure learning relevance and alignment
Defines and identifies gaps
Identifies potential interventions and development to meet performance objectives
Determines effective performance interventions and development opportunities
Coaches local supervisors and leads on key learning principles and concepts
Identifies interventions, developmental needs, curriculums to support performance objectives and successful execution of goals
Tracks, monitors and maintains performance metrics for a sustainable learning environment
Provides materials
Develops and creates material to meet learning objectives and close performance gaps
Creates interventions plans and recommendations to achieve continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
3+ Years of Training, Development or related experience
Willingness and ability to travel
Preferred Skills:
Strong knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and formal instructional design methodologies; the ability to develop training for a variety of different mediums.
Strong facilitation, communication, presentation and writing skills including facilitating virtual programs.
Microsoft Office Proficiency – must be an expert user of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
Demonstrate determination and commitment to produce quality work in given timeframes, with appropriate attention to detail
Proven ability to work with minimal direct supervision and interact with peers and managers in remote locations
Ability to interact and form strong relationships with .com Sales Management Team and Internal Business Partners
Bilingual skills a plus
