Please join us as we build a community created specifically for instructional designers, trainers, e-learning designers, developers, and anyone interested in knowing more about instructional design and the tools we all use.

Scott Nipper will lead a monthly session on a topic of interest to attendees. The topics can be on anything ID related and can center around tools, concepts, theories, practice, application, idea generation - whatever YOU want.

The main idea is to have this be an interactive, participative forum where folks network, share ideas, tips, tricks, best known methods and we all learn from each other.  We will continually add and subtract ideas to make sure meetups are valuable to those attending.

Scott's goal is for everyone to leave each meeting with information that they can immediately apply to their projects back on the job.

It is suggested that you bring a laptop.

TOPIC THIS MONTH:

1. Tools: Articulate Storyline - Layers - when and when not to use them, and how to use them.

2. Design Principles: Context - making content meaningful to learners

3. Learning Theory: Cognitive Load Theory - Defined and explained
