Let's Get Serious About Problem Solving
Virtual Workshop

January 5, 2022 • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Problem solving In our results oriented business culture suffers from several fatal flaws. We (1) define problems in terms of their solution (i.e, "We have a communications problem!"). We (2) fail to distinguish between fundamental causes and mere symptoms. And most important, we (3) treat problems as they should all be amenable to the same problem solving process.

Forty-five years of working with organizations has taught me that there are actually 6 types of problems... but only 6! And each type requires its own path of investigation, and each has its own unique outline for a solution.

No wonder that we routinely stumble when facing a wide variety of problems, such as Installing enterprise-wide software, implementing strategic plans, downsizing gracefully, cross functional coordination, mergers & acquisitions, process improvement, or driving down decision making.

This session will define the 6 problem types and highlight the different paths to resolution for each. This is a precursor to a 3-session course providing more detail on how to work within each of the problem types.

Technology Requirements:
This session will be conducted through Zoom. Log-in instructions will be sent upon registration.
