In this interactive course you will decipher the language and the best practices for virtual training. See the options you have for engagement, practice, and learner involvement through your own involvement in practical, repeatable activities. You’ll leave class with templates, resources, and experience.

Objectives

Meeting, Webinar, Training: Making Sense of Our Options

  1. Describe the common terms used in the virtual learning environment.
  2. Identify the format best suited for your need.
  3. Explore best practices for using the virtual space.

How To Move Classroom Training To The Virtual Space

  1. Review course objectives for transfer to the virtual environment.
  2. Translate classroom course exercises into virtual activities.
  3. Adjust pace and timing for the virtual environment.
  4. Begin a virtual course design outline.

Create A Blended Learning Approach

  1. Determine which activities are well suited for the virtual training.
  2. Identify classroom objectives to move to micro-learning and eLearning.

Engage Learners in The Virtual Classroom

  1. Identify methods to prepare learners for the virtual environment.
  2. Use virtual engagement tools including – annotation, white board, breakout rooms, share screen, polling, and more.
  3. Choose activities for interaction and learning.
  4. Create a virtual engagement activity using templates.

PowerPoint Tools for the Virtual Environment

  1. Identify best practices for quickly updating PowerPoints.
  2. Use graphic design principles for engagement and retention.
  3. Build slide decks that hold the learner’s interest.

The Role of the Virtual Training Producer

  1. Explore best practices for the producer role.
  2. Identify the necessary elements for creating a producer guide.
  3. Troubleshooting common technical issues in the virtual space.

This session will be conducted through Zoom. Log-in instructions will be sent upon registration. 

About the Speaker:

Katrina Kennedy is known to the training community as “the trainer’s trainer” and specializes in helping trainers design and deliver learning events that transfer to improved job performance. She has provided training, coaching, and keynotes to organizations since 1997.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Cancellations made more than five (5) calendar days prior to the event will receive a full refund. Cancellations made three (3) to five (5) calendar days prior to the event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than three (3) calendar days prior to the event and no-shows will not be refunded or credited. Any unpaid balance due will remain according to the above guidelines. Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.
