AVP, Learning & Development - Vacaville, CA

Primary Objectives:

  • Designs, develops, implements and assesses learning and development strategies that support key business initiatives, and increases organizational, team and individual effectiveness in support of the credit union’s mission.
  • Leads the organization-wide knowledge sharing to ensure the credit union’s know-how, information and experience is shared to link both process and corporate strategy.
  • Leads the learning strategy, planning and development by assessing the learning and development needs.
  • Partners with business leadership and human resources to help identify performance gaps and development to improve individual and team performance.
  • Leads and manages the performance and resources of the Learning & Development department to ensure the effective and responsive delivery of blended and online services to organizational leaders and staff.
  • Provides strong subject matter expertise in learning technology, change management and integrated talent management.

Supervisory Relationships:

  • Reports directly to the VP, Talent Management.
  • Direct supervisory responsibilities for the Manager, Learning & Development and Knowledge Management Specialist.
  • Overall supervisory responsibilities for the Learning & Development department staff.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology or related area or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years learning and development experience in the areas of facilitating, consulting, coaching, program curriculum development, leadership development and organizational development.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience implementing distance-learning initiatives, using learning technology tools and/or integrating new technologies.
  • Experience developing and implementing programs to build employee loyalty, engagement and morale preferred.
  • Experience in a financial institution strongly preferred.
