Senior Trainer - San Jose, CA

The County of Santa Clara is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Trainer to be part of our Learning and Employee Development (LED) team. If you are looking for an opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in managing learning programs, training assessment, design and delivery of instructor-led and/or web-based training, and organizational development, then we want to hear from you!

This is a full-time, temporary position with benefits, which may last up to one (1) year maximum but more likely for 6 months. LED positions are located at the County Conference and Training Center, 2310 N. 1st St., San José, CA 95131 (very close to 87, 101, 880, 680, and the light rail).

Responsibilities are expected to include but are not limited to:

  • Consultation with agencies, departments, or divisions regarding training and development or optional approaches for solving specific problems related to organizational productivity
  • Organizational change management and organizational development services
  • Program development and management
  • Delivery of training using existing core materials

A creative team player who thrives in an environment working with subject matter experts and cross-functional project teams is desired.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree as a minimum requirement (a master’s degree in a related field is preferred)
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a workplace trainer, facilitator, performance consultant, and/or training program designer and developer (public sector experience is a plus), with knowledge and skills in:
    • Organizational development
    • Being a design team member for topics such as employee engagement and well-being, management development, and supervisory skills
    • Delivering training using existing curriculum
    • Partnering with business units to establish performance improvement needs and then match to existing or customized resources
    • The ability to work well independently when required

Compensation is based on experience: $8,227.44 - $10,004.80 monthly
