Occasional Classroom Instructors - Sacramento, CA

THE POSITION

CPS HR Consulting is looking for professional individuals to teach courses, as outlined below, to public sector employees on an as-scheduled basis.  Some of these courses require state service experience working within the State of California.  Instructors will be expected to teach to a set of learning objectives using either their own or CPS HR curriculum.  Class content needs to include interactive activities that engage the learner and promote application of skills. Classes are taught on weekdays, either at our location in Sacramento, or at various client locations throughout California.  We work with our trainers to determine schedules, and our office handles the printing of all materials.

COURSE SUBJECT MATTER INCLUDES:

§  Analytical Skills

§  (CA state-specific) Completed Staff Work

§  Basic Supervision, a multi-day course that includes a day on labor relations

§  Leadership – this is also a multi-day course and requires that the instructor have experience from moving up within a state agency or agencies, and it is desired that the instructor has also served in leadership roles within more than one state agency.

§  Coaching – this course will teach participants how to coach and mentor others in a work environment.  It is required that instructors have documented experience in this area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred

EXPERIENCE: 

Must have classroom experience teaching adult learners; experience in one or more of the subject matter areas outlined above; and be able to independently use MS Word and Power Point with newer audio-visual technology.

These are non-regular positions, where incumbents work intermittently, as needed, and scheduled.
